LONOHANA Estate Chocolate grows cacao on the North Shore and produces 100% Hawaii-grown chocolate in Honolulu.

In 2009 two childhood friends and their families with a big dream embarked on a journey to establish one of the world's few vertically integrated chocolate companies right here in Hawaii.

Rarely is chocolate made by the same people, or even in the same country, where the cacao is grown. But Hawaii is one of the few places you can do both and we were determined to break the rules of show everyone that we were a totally different type of chocolate company.

Join us for a behind the scenes, interactive and highly educational walking tour in our renovated 1930's art deco movie theater, now a full-blown chocolate factory. The building is a fitting home for our vintage chocolate making machines (some 100+ years old) working alongside state-of-the-art equipment.

Led by a member of our production team, we take you through every step of the chocolate making process from seed to bar.

Learn how we rehabilitated 20 acres of abandoned sugar cane land into a thriving forest using regenerative agriculture. See how cacao is harvested, then fermented and dried in small, perfectly ripe batches for optimal quality.

You will see how we roast, winnow, grind, mill, conche and temper, with a tasting at every stage.

Each tour finishes with a curated in-depth tasting of our award-winning chocolate bars in our 1930s-era lounge. Tour fee includes discounts on all purchases and FedEx shipping (if you'd like us to ship some/all purchases directly to your home).

Know Before Your Go:

Guests will be provided with and are required to wear hair and shoe coverings while in the production area. Please arrive 10-15 minutes before your scheduled start time. Street parking only.

To ensure safety and quality, our tours are limited in size and, in accordance with FDA regulations, while we cannot allow service animals inside our production area, we can accommodate in the tasting salon.
