Horseback Legacy Forest Planter's Experience

After riding through the Hawaiian countryside by horseback, you'll feel a special closeness to this beautiful place, and there's no better way to give back to the 'aina (land) than by planting a native tree in our Legacy Forest. This eco-tour is part of a huge reforestation effort in partnership with Hawaii Legacy Reforestation Initiative, and you'll be able to make a difference in the preservation of Oahu's North Shore.

You and your horse will travel up our scenic mountain trails, exploring peaceful forests, open pastures, and gorgeous ocean views. Along the way, you might see a variety of wildlife, like tropical birds, grazing cows, and wild pigs. Once at the Legacy Forest you'll personally plant a native tree during a special ceremony. During your tree planting and eco-tour, guides will talk about the history of Hawaiian land and how your tree will contribute to the healing of the local ecosystem.

This tour requires the additional purchase of a dedicated and trackable native tree you would like to plant. The cost is $120 per tree. Your money will go directly to the non-profit Hawaiian Legacy Reforestation Initiative for the care and health of the forest. HLRI's proprietary technology lets you virtually monitor your tree's growth and dedication can be a wonderful way to honor a loved one or to commemorate a special event.

Know Before You Go:

• Tours run rain or shine. In the unlikely event of unsafe conditions or other tour cancelleation inititiated by company, a full refund will be issued.
• All cancellations require 24-hour notice for full refund.
• Please allow an extra 15 minutes of travel time for construction & traffic delays.
• Riders are required to attend a 15-minute safety briefing prior to tour.
• Please wear long pants, covered shoes, sunscreen, sunglasses and a light jacket.
